Production

Island Power is a solution company, creating sustainable power, waste and water solutions for islands, primarily those not connected to the mainland grid.

The company works with small units and decentralised renewable energy production close to energy consumption. The aim is providing long term sustainable solutions for islands and off-grid communities that enable them to move away from polluting technologies, in turn creating financial benefits and local jobs, reducing their reliance on energy transported from the mainland in favour of independent and local solutions. Island Power projects are commercial, but with positive social and environmental impact.

The basis for the power production is local, so called, micro grids, either with our without energy storage. The base production comes solar power, given its reliable and predictable production pattern, as well as the falling production cost. And of course waste to energy, but Island Power also covers the renewable discipline of wind power, as well have close connection to the development in thermal and wave power. All renewable energy sources that can be relevant to the islands.

Island Power have the power base in currently in Solar Parking and Neighborhood Power.

As part of the power producing concept of Island Power Solutions, the concept of Solar Parking will be utilized. Given the access and availability to parking spaces and the multiple value and function of the concept, it is a good tool to reinforce the grid with local, high precision energy production.

Parking spaces, which are usually considered a “dead space” can now be used to produce green energy, while also protecting the cars and customers from heat, rain, snow and provides additional lighting options for safety. Solar Parking has developed a concept for cost efficient, sustainable, scalable and competitive solar carport installations for parking lots, that is also ideal for connecting charging stations for electric vehicles.

Neighbourhood Power

Island Power Solutions is in a process of acquiring the majority of Neighborhood Power, a California based corporation with headquarters in Hawaii. With almost a decade of operation Neighborhood Power fits very well into the philosophy of Island Power Solutions, and also extends Island Power geographical structure, connecting Asia to Caribbean.

Neighborhood Power has developed multiple sustainable energy production projects with a total capacity of over 10 MWs of solar installations in California, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, New York and Connecticut. These solar energy projects include residential as well as commercial and utility installations. Neighborhood Power also has over 10 MW under construction and another 11MW of projects in their pipeline.
